Listyn KC is dedicating our July show to local Kansas City musician Danny Cox, celebrating his 80th birthday!
Listyn KC host Kelsyn Rooks will be joined on stage by Danny Cox for a “fireside chat” in front of our audience about his personal music history, favorite recordings, influences, albums that changed his life, musicians he played with through the years – during which we share selected tracks from relevant recordings. After a short break we dim the lights and immerse the audience in the experience of collectively listening to an original vinyl pressing of Danny’s 1974 classic “Feel So Good”, which itself will be celebrating a 50th anniversary in 2024. All of the music is played back on our world-class stereo system brought in for every Listyn KC show.

All Listyn KC shows benefit the Center For Recorded Music, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization bringing to life a new world-class cultural center and music education facility in Kansas City.
Tickets are available for $15 including Non-Alcoholic Beverages or $35 which includes your Food and a selection of Non-Alcoholic and Alcoholic Beverages (21+ for Alcohol, ID required). Please bring cash for tipping bartending staff as credit cards cannot be accepted. Food selection for this show will include a selection of Pizza, Hors d'oeuvres, "heavy" appetizers, and fruit (vegetarian/vegan and gluten-free options will be available). UMKC Catering requires us to have a final food order prior to the show, so the $35 Food and Beverage tickets will only be on sale until Noon on the Wednesday before the show. We are sorry, but we will not be able to accommodate any additional food requests once ticket sales are closed.
