Listyn KC presents Ray Charles "Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music"

Join us in celebrating the 60th anniversary of the first smash hit crossover album. Ray produced the album of country, folk, and western music standards reworked into R&B, pop, and jazz styles. The album was an immediate critical and commercial success, with 4 hit singles receiving airplay on Pop, R&B, and Country stations. This album is credited with introducing disparate audiences to new styles of music and helping to bring generations together.

All Listyn KC shows benefit the Center For Recorded Music, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization bringing to life a new world-class cultural center and music education facility in Kansas City. 

Tickets are available for $15 including Non-Alcoholic Beverages or $35 which includes your Food and a selection of Non-Alcoholic and Alcoholic Beverages (21+ for Alcohol, ID required). Please bring cash for tipping bartending staff as credit cards cannot be accepted. Food selection for this show will include a selection of Pizza, Hors d'oeuvres, "heavy" appetizers, and fruit (vegetarian/vegan and gluten-free options will be available). UMKC Catering requires us to have a final food order prior to the show, so the $35 Food and Beverage tickets will only be on sale until Noon on the Wednesday before the show. We are sorry, but we will not be able to accommodate any additional food requests once ticket sales are closed.

 Listyn KC is back in a new location. Same music, same system, familiar faces, but in a new place. The show is in the UMKC Student Union, room 401. Listen to a curated selection of music and fun facts related to the featured album. Then enjoy the entire album played on the amazing Listyn KC sound system, brought in just for the show! Doors open at 12:30pm.
