About the event

Tickets On Sale Now!

Listyn KC is celebrating the music of Taylor Swift featuring her 5th studio album, 1989.  We will be playing music from Taylor's entire career, with the event ending in a full play of the brand new Taylor's Version of 1989, re-recorded and re-released on October 27, 2023 as part of Taylor's efforts to reclaim control of her own recordings.  Join us for 3+ hours of food, drinks, fun, and music played on our incredible $$$ stereo system! Doors open at 12:30pm When originally released 1989's commercial success transformed Swift's image from a country singer to that of a pop icon.  It was the second album to spawn five or more US top-10 singles in the 2010s and gave Swift two albums that each scored five US top-10 hits, a rare accomplishment. Its singles received massive airplay on US radio over a year and a half following its release, which Billboard noted as "a kind of cultural omnipresence" that was rare for an album released during the age of streaming. Taylor's campaign to re-record her albums continues to send shockwave across the music industry, changing the way artists negotiate contracts and advocate for their ownership. All Listyn KC shows benefit the Center For Recorded Music, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization bringing to life a new world-class cultural center and music education facility in Kansas City. Tickets are available for $15 including Non-Alcoholic Beverages or $35 which includes your Food and a selection of Non-Alcoholic and Alcoholic Beverages (21+ for Alcohol, ID required).  Please bring cash for tipping bartending staff as credit cards cannot be accepted.  Food selection for this show will include a selection of Pizza, Hors d'oeuvres, "heavy" appetizers, and fruit (vegetarian/vegan and gluten-free options will be available).  UMKC Catering requires us to have a final food order prior to the show, so the $35 Food and Beverage tickets will only be on sale until Noon on the Thursday before the show.  We are sorry, but we will not be able to accommodate any additional food requests once ticket sales are closed.
