About the event
Disintegration is the eighth album from The Cure. Disintegration hit number 3 on the UK charts and number 12 in the US. With the highest number of album sales, and the most hit singles, it by far represents their commercial peak.
Disintegration was also Robert Smith's return to the gloomy, goth rock that established them in the early 80's. Smith deliberately sought to record an album that was depressing, as it was a reflection of the despondency he felt at the time.
